Yesterday was a busy day in Boston. We started out at 7:30 with a lecture on colonial religion, followed by a bus trip to Plymouth Plantation, or a replica thereof, where we heard two lectures, one from the perspective of the Native Americans, the other from the perspective of the colonists. Many myths were dispelled, including the myth of the first Thanksgiving, of which, in actuality, almost nothing is known. If it happened, it was likely not as amicable an affair as myth would have it. Fascinating.
